  1. Put chocolate chips and bacon grease in the glass bowl and melt.  I put in the microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds to make sure it’s melting but not cooking.  You can melt it as a double-boiler on the stove top.
  2. Spray the mold with coconut spray and set aside until chocolate is melted.
  3. Put about 1 teaspoon in each mold, then add 3 almonds in each and top with about 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate.
  4. Tap the silicone mold on the counter to take out the bubbles and even out the treats.
  5. Place in the fridge for up to an hour to solidify the chocolate.
  6. Pop out of the mold and enjoy your Almond Chocolate Treat!

There’s enough to share with family and friends, but you don’t have to.  Put in a storage bag and place in the fridge or freezer so they keep longer.

Coconut oil or butter can be switched out for the bacon grease, but why?

Many nuts can be added to replace the almonds.  You can try macadamia nuts, pecans or even walnuts.  Whatever your heart desires!

I bought the ingredients and tools from various places, Amazon, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s.  Use what you have in your kitchen!  I linked to the best deals I could find on the items that I used, but you can go nuts with this recipe.  Enjoy and be creative!
